Well Woman Gynecology

Besides caring for women during pregnancy and birth, Certified Nurse-Midwives also provide gynecological care. This means that women can access personalized, gentle, and high quality care from a CNM at any point in her life. Many CNM's offer care options from adolescence through adulthood and beyond menopause.

Nurse-midwives throughout Vermont offer Well-Woman health care (see directory) including pap smears, breast exams, treatment of vaginal infections or other gynecological problems, birth control methods and family planning.

Some Nurse-midwives have extensive knowledge and experience with alternative health options as well as traditional medicine.

If extensive tests or procedures are indicated and selected by a woman such as lab work, colposcopy, breast mammogram or bone-density testing, your Nurse-midwife can order the specific test for you.
